THE THUNDERBIRDS WIN A NAIL BITTER IN OT 85-82 AT COLLEGE OF ALAMEDA

The THUNDERBIRDS were in cruise control and up close to 20 points with 8 minutes left. In a blink of an eye the Alameda College Cougars made a run and closed the THUNDERBIRD lead to 1 point. The THUNDERBIRDS missed there next shot and Alameda capitalized hitting a 3 pointer that put Alameda up 2 points with 7 seconds left in regulation. Joshua Amey went coast to coast for a bucket that tied the game at the end of regulation 79-79.  The THUNDERBIRDS again took control of the game in the overtime period and won Alameda 82 THUNDERBIRDS 85.

On Saturday Jan 19, 2013 the THUNDERBIRDS played 35 mins of poor basketball and came to life in last five minutes. However it was too little too late as the THUNDERBIRDS drive for a undefeated league season came to a end as Contra Costa College defeated the THUNDERBIRDS by a score of 79-73. The THUNDERBIRDS had 15 turnovers and missed 12 freethrows shooting 29/41 71%.

The THUNDERBIRDS improved there record to (8-7) 5-0 in Bay valley conference play. The THUNDERBIRDS defeated the Marin College Mariners in Kentfield, Ca convincingly by the score of Mariners 50 THUNDERBIRDS 64.

In the second half the THUNDERBIRDS increased there lead to as much as 8 but Lmc made a run of there own to tied the game in regulation. In overtime hustle and some luck allowed the THUNDERBIRDS to stay victorious and undefeated at 4-0 in Bay Valley Conference Play.
