It was a slow start for the Thunderbirds last weekend at the San Jose City College Tip Off Tournament. The Thunderbirds in the first round fell to Hartnell College by 3points after leading by 17 with 8 minutes to go. In the second round game the Thunderbirds defeated Lassen College by 17 final score Lassen College 62 Thunderbirds 79.In the consolation championship game the Thunderbirds were defeated by the 8th in the state ranked Riverside College Tigers. In this game the Thunderbirds played an horrible 1st half and were down 17 at half time. The Thunderbirds fought back and won the 2nd half but it was too little too late. The final score Riverside College 86 Thunderbirds 74. The Thunderbirds are stiil building chemistry with each other but look forward to playing this weekend and redeeming last weekend performance.
The Thunderbirds head to the Shasta College Invitational Tournament in Redding California this weekend. The Thunderbirds will face in the 1st Round game the Ohlone College Renegades at 4:00 pm Friday November 18,2011.
